Setup

Deal all the cards evenly to all players.

Gameplay

Before a round starts, three cards are passed between players. Each player must select the three cards to pass before they pick up the card they received.

In the first round, cards are passed to the player to the left. In the second round, cards are passed to the right, and in the third round, cards are passed to the player opposite.

The person with the 2
♣
must lead the first trick with it. Play continues clockwise.

Players leading a trick may not lead with Hearts unless a Heart has already been played. Playing the first Heart is called "breaking hearts".

Players gain one point for each Heart they won. The Q
♠
is a special card worth 13 points. However, winning all 13 Hearts and the Q
♠
allows the player to either reduce their score by 26 points, or increase all other players' scores by 26 points. This is called "shooting the moon". The game continues until a player reaches 100 points, at which point the player with the lowest score wins.
